Our Living Water Adopt-A-Child International Director, Steve McDaniel, recently served as a speaker on a panel at the Liberty Network International (LNI) Conference in Pensacola, Florida. We encourage you to watch his message and be inspired by the Kingdom wisdom shared by the entire panel.
“While it’s been my high honor to serve God for more than two decades, it is my highest aim to please Him,” Steve said on the panel. He continued, “As I look at our seasoned pastors and some of our apostles to our aspiring and emerging leaders stepping into your call, I would challenge you with 2 Corinthians 5:9: ‘So we make it our goal to please him.'”
In ministry, there are so many different targets and tasks that they can overwhelm us and we can begin to aim at targets that aren’t “to please God.”
Steve mentioned that he joined the King’s Army after a 20-year career in the Marines. Trainees would practice firing on a range requiring fundamentals, sight alignment, discipline, steady hands, and vision. Some of those fundamentals are the same characteristics ministers need for their Kingdom work.
Steve concluded with the idea that there will be a lot of targets that people will encounter in their ministries. “Even if you hit them, not all of them will please God. Jesus is our example; He always pleased God.”
“So Jesus said, ‘When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.'” — John 8:28-29
In addition to Steve’s presence on the panel, we also had a table at the event that allowed conference attendees to learn more about LWAAC and even sponsor a child.
