We are excited to announce that Drew and Carrie Gipson will be joining our Guatemala Missions Team! This February they will arrive in Guatemala to fulfill the calling that the Lord has been preparing them for over the past fourteen years.

Drew joined the Marine Corps in 1995. In 1996, he married his high school sweetheart, Carrie. While serving in the Marine Corps he was sent to Cherry Point, NC where he and Carrie first attended Liberty Church of Havelock. It was there that they met Pastor Steve and Ana McDaniel while serving in the Kids Ministry.

In 2007, during a construction trip to Guatemala, Drew received the Lord’s calling for him and his family to be willing to serve full-time on the mission field. While on a trip visiting Guatemala in 2008, Carrie also received that calling and confirmed that God’s leading was to Guatemala.

Since that day, they have been preparing their hearts while faithfully serving together in various ministry opportunities, waiting for the timing of God’s call to come to fruition. Every step they have taken has always prompted the question, “How will this prepare us for ministry in Guatemala?”

In 2011, the Marine Corps sent the Gipsons to Okinawa, Japan. During their time there, they were actively involved in ministry leading both the singles and kids ministries. It was here that they began sharing the call that Lord had laid on their hearts to pursue the mission field in Guatemala with Living Water Adopt-A-Child (LWAAC).

In 2016, the Marine Corps sent the Gipson family back to North Carolina where they reconnected with Liberty Church of Havelock. Drew retired from the Marine Corps in 2018 after faithfully serving for over 23 years. It became clear to both Drew and Carrie that their time to go to the mission field was arriving. Now that their four grown children have left the home, Drew and Carrie feel confident it is time to head to Guatemala.

We encourage you to watch the video of Carrie sharing about her heart for LWAAC to learn more. Give now to support these new missionaries as they faithfully make their way onto the mission field to invest their lives in our Kingdom-building work!
