In March of 2022, we announced our plans for a 10th feeding program in Guatemala on our then-new property in Chulumal, Quiche. So much progress has been made and our vision for how the Lord will use this property has continued to grow over the past two years.
Progress on our new feeding program building continues to move forward successfully. The windows and doors are now in and work has started on the kitchen area at the back of the building. We are now praying for and envisioning building a dormitory that will house mission teams on the property as well!
We are still confident that we will be able to obtain water on the property for a community well but will not be able to secure a large drilling rig until the beginning of 2025. In the meantime, we have designed and installed a rainwater collection system from the roof of the building that runs into two 5,000-litre below-ground storage tanks. Rains can be torrential in this area from late May until October, so this is a good way to make use of our large roof area. Portable pumps will be installed so that we can move the water where we need it.
