Christmas is a season of hope and joy, and for the children and families in our programs, it’s one of the most anticipated times of the year. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and supporters, we were able to bless every child and adult registered in our programs with a special Christmas gift this past year.
In Guatemala, the celebration was filled with excitement and gratitude. Each person received a large bag of essential food items. In addition, the boys received toy cars, the girls received hair accessories and the adults were given much-needed toiletries. Everyone was invited to a special Christmas meal, where they watched a heartfelt presentation of the Christmas story before receiving their gifts. Leading up to the event, a visiting team from the UK, Ireland, Germany and the USA helped assemble some of these gift bags. Together, we formed an assembly line and packed around 600 bags—a small but meaningful contribution toward the 7,000+ that were distributed!
In Albania, Christmas was just as special. The children who attend our programs love to sing and perform, and after weeks of dedicated practice, they presented the Christmas story at each of our church services. In addition to a ministry-provided gift bag filled with school supplies, each child received a shoebox of other gifts, generously donated by Team Hope. Their smiles and laughter were a reminder of the true spirit of Christmas—love, generosity and the celebration of Christ’s birth.
