We are excited to share about a new door the Lord has opened in the rural, mountainous community of Pasojoc, where we already operate a Feeding Program and church. This community has three public schools. One is relatively close to our current program, but the other two are much farther away – too far for many of the younger children to attend.

Recently, we met with the Director and staff of Pasojoc I School to present an idea: starting a new Feeding Program right there in the school. After prayerful discussion, the Director shared our proposal with the parents and community leaders, and we have been officially approved to begin a Pasojoc I Feeding Program. We’ve already had the opportunity to serve 287 students lunch!

The welcome we received was truly encouraging. The Director led us into each classroom, allowing us to speak openly with the students. When school let out, children formed a line to greet us, offering handshakes, hugs and thanks. It was a powerful reminder of the trust and respect God has allowed us to build in Pasojoc.

During a Q&A with the teachers, we talked about needs and dreams for the school. We discussed school supplies and even potential technology initiatives. Then, one teacher shared a heartfelt request: many students do not have adequate shoes. There are approximately 300 children in grades K–6 at Pasojoc I, and we can’t help but feel a burden to provide every single one with a pair of shoes.

Jesus cared deeply about feet. He noticed them, washed them and called us to do the same for one another. Meeting this need would be a tangible, practical way to show Christ’s love to these children. We’re excited to see what other ways we can serve this community as we continue to deepen our relationship.

Glory to God for this growing opportunity to nourish both body and soul in Pasojoc!
