A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the People Who Make Ministry Happen
When people think of Living Water Adopt-A-Child (LWAAC), the images that come to mind are often the visible moments such as children receiving warm meals, families worshiping together, youth growing in their faith, or mission teams visiting remote villages. But behind every beautiful moment is a network of faithful men and women whose steadfast obedience is carrying the ministry forward.
These are the quiet heroes of our ministry. The ones whose names you may not know, but whose impact will echo for generations.
1. The Behind-the-Scenes Workers
Cooks Who Serve Hope, One Meal at a Time
Before a child ever steps into a feeding program, cooks have already been busy for hours chopping vegetables, stirring enormous pots and preparing meals that must stretch to feed hundreds. They don’t simply cook-they care. Many children know these cooks by name and find in them a steady, comforting presence. Their kitchens are sanctuaries of nourishment and the love of Jesus.
Thank you, kitchen staff.
Translators Who Carry Children’s Stories Across the World
Translators in Guatemala and Albania sit with children to hear their stories of joy, their struggles and their prayer requests. With compassion and accuracy, they turn these moments into letters and appeals for sponsorship that change children’s lives. They help a child feel seen and help a sponsor feel connected. Their work sustains thousands of sponsor-child relationships.
Thank you, translators.
Blessing Field Workers Who Cultivate Provision
In Guatemala, the Blessing Fields remind us that God provides through faithful labor. Workers plant, tend and harvest crops as well as raise animals that support feeding programs and families in need. Every Blessing Bag distributed begins with their hands in the soil and their hearts committed to serving their communities.
Thank you, Blessing Field workers.
2. The Churches Who Live Out the Gospel
Local Churches in Guatemala and Albania
We work hand-in-hand with local church leaders in Guatemala and Albania, many of whom are led by pastors who once sat in the very feeding programs they now oversee. These leaders deeply understand the needs of their communities. They shepherd families, disciple children, faithfully preach the gospel and serve as living testimonies of God’s transforming grace.
Thank you to our local ministry leaders.
Church Partners Across the United States
Churches in the U.S. continually pray, give and help sustain the ministry of LWAAC year-round. They rally behind children in need, support programs and champion our mission in their congregations. Their partnership ensures the work continues strong and steady.
Thank you, Church Partners.
Churches Who Send Mission Teams
Each year, churches send teams to Guatemala and Albania to serve alongside LWAAC to help at feeding sites, pray with families, assist with medical outreach and encourage pastors and local staff. Their presence strengthens relationships, builds unity and reminds communities that they are not forgotten.
Thank you, mission teams.
3. Those Who Support from Afar
Sponsors Whose “Yes” Changes a Child’s Life
Sponsors may live thousands of miles away, but their impact is deeply personal. Their monthly support provides meals, medical care, discipleship and stability for a child. Their letters often become treasured keepsakes for the children in our programs. To many children, a sponsor represents hope and a reminder that they are loved.
Thank you, sponsors.
Givers, Prayer Warriors, and Advocates
Many supporters will never travel to Guatemala or Albania, yet they play a vital part in every story of transformation. They give faithfully, pray consistently and share the ministry with their family, friends and church. Their advocacy fuels the mission and helps us reach thousands of children and families who need it most.
Thank you, supporters.
One Mission. Many Heroes. One Body in Christ.
Every meal served, every child discipled, every family strengthened and every village reached is the result of God working through people—some seen, but many unseen. From cooks and translators to pastors and sponsors, each person plays a role in the bigger story God is writing through LWAAC.
