At Living Water Adopt-A-Child, every child we reach has a story. Many begin through great hardship or tragedy, but through the love of Jesus and the faithfulness of our supporters, we have seen those stories transform into testimonies of hope, healing, and purpose.
Today, we want to introduce you to a special young man. Thanks to the compassionate care and support of people like you, his life is being actively transformed for eternity.
Meet Eduardo
Eduardo grew up in LWAAC’s Chixocol Feeding Program in Guatemala. Eduardo has been deaf and non-verbal from birth. Over the course of his life, he has faced a multitude of challenges and limitations. With few opportunities available to him, and the daily difficulty of communicating, the future appeared as a haze of uncertainty.
But God had another plan for Eduardo’s life.
Through the generosity of our supporters, Eduardo entered into the caring community of Living Water Adopt-A-Child. Through our program he has not only received practical support, nourishment, and encouragement — he has also experienced the love of Christ through the hands and feet of His faithful people.
A Life-Altering Relationship
Eduardo recently began helping in the Blessing Field agricultural project alongside Angel, one of our ministry leaders and an experienced farmer. This time in the fields together naturally created an amazing ministry opportunity.
Angel learned sign language so he could communicate with Eduardo. This opened up the door for Angel to develop a relationship with Eduardo and share the Gospel in a way he could easily understand. Through this friendship, Eduardo came to know Jesus Christ as His Savior.
Today, Eduardo is officially employed by LWAAC. His story stands as a powerful testimony of the power of Christian ministry to uphold dignity, provide opportunity, and radically transform lives. Through the Lord’s providence, seeds for eternity were planted and yielded an abundant harvest in Eduardo’s life.
An Unexpected Miracle
But Eduardo’s story doesn’t stop here. Eduardo recently visited an audiologist to get his hearing tested.
The results were miraculous: Eduardo has the ability to hear.
For his entire life, no one realized that hearing aids could dramatically improve his ability to hear. Now, for the first time, the future appears full of hope and possibility for Eduardo.
With the assistance of hearing aids, Eduardo’s life could change in several important ways:
- Improved communication
- More independence
- Educational opportunities
- Stronger relationships
- Hope and confidence for the future
To you and me, hearing is something we quickly take for granted. However, for Eduardo, hearing could change the entire course of his life.
