Steve McDaniel joined the Marine Corps out of High School and it was his Marine service that first brought him to Guatemala in 1980. While serving with the Security Detachment at the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala, Steve met his future and current wife, Ana Maria. It was during their military service that the McDaniel family connected with Liberty Network and sponsored their first child with Living Water Adopt-A-Child (LWAAC). In 2006, while serving with Liberty Church in Havelock, NC, Steve & Ana led a team to build a church in San Miguel, Dueñas. The Lord called them to full-time ministry in Guatemala during their time on this church building team. While preaching through an interpreter in Dueñas, the Lord prompted Steve to prophetically proclaim his future return to Guatemala to preach the Gospel without the aid of an interpreter.

Soon thereafter (2007), Steve, Ana, and their then 12-year-old son moved to Guatemala. In 2015, Steve was appointed to the position of Director for LWAAC Guatemala ministry operations while Ana was appointed as the first female President and Legal Representative of the Guatemalan Board. In 2018, Steve was named International Director and President for the LWAAC global operations. Ana serves as an Executive Committee Board Member.

They reside in Guatemala while also traveling extensively to promote the mission and vision of LWAAC.
